Description
Panoramic views on land and by sea
The all-day Cayo Arena tour takes place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, departing from Puerto Plata on the Dominican Republic’s northwest coast. Board an air-conditioned bus to begin your 10-hour visit to paradise, first passing scenic landscapes and mountains en route to a small fishing village known as Punta Rucia. Located on La Isabela Bay in Puerto Plata, you’ll next board a speedboat for a 45-minute sail across the bay, taking in mangroves and national parks before reaching Cayo Arena. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a glimpse of a manatee swimming among the mangroves!
Snorkel on your Cayo Arena tour
Once arriving at Cayo Arena, which is both a coral island and sandbar in the midst of the Caribbean, you’ll be provided with snorkel gear. Swim in the clear shallow waters, and encircle the island to check out the schools of fish and other sea life. When you’ve had your fill of water time during your Cayo Arena tour, hop back on the speedboat and sail back to the fishing village, where you’ll be served a Dominican buffet lunch with soft drinks and water. Finally, you’ll return to the bus for a relaxing ride back to your resort.
