Description
Take a walk and a 4x4 into Baja’s nature
Following pick-up at your resort in Los Cabos, your safari begins with an introduction into Baja California’s unique tropical desert climate with a guided nature walk. Learn about the indigenous flora and fauna of the area and then board an open-air Unimog 4x4 truck to continue deeper into the rugged outback. View ancient cacti that live in the sandy pathways, and keep an eye out for chipmunks, foxes, deer and ‘caracara’ falcons who live and hide in the desert.
Look for whales on the back of a camel
The next portion of your excursion will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience — a 20-minute ride across the golden sands of a Pacific Ocean beach on the back of a camel. From your perch on this camel safari, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean. If you take this Outback and Camel Safari tour during the winter months (December through April), be sure to keep an eye out on the horizon for a glimpse of migrating whales that may surprise you and breech just off the coastline.
Sample Mexican cuisine and tequila
Once you’ve gotten closer to nature, it’s time to sit back and relax at a local ranch, where you'll have traditional Mexican cuisine, accompanied by fresh handmade maize tortillas and the perfect salsa to top any dish you choose. But no Mexican meal is complete without tequila. Your ranch guides will provide a fun and educational tequila tasting session and introduce you to mezcal, another famed cactus drink. This total exploration of Baja concludes with a transfer back to your Los Cabos resort.
